Interiors around the World - Hotel Mamá, Mallorca
An interior with gorgeous pastels, strong patterned artisan tiles, walls and ceilings, a beautiful facade, fantastic restaurants and the ocean close by. We visited Hotel Mamá in September 2019 with friends and this was a holiday that will be remembered for a very long time and one that we dream of re-visiting soon.
The hotel is situated in a palm-lined square in a 19th century building and the impressive facade and entrance does not fail on its promise of what is inside.
Designed by the Parisian designer Jacques Grange, this eclectic interior combines feminine French patterned upholstery with strong geometric Moroccan tiles, soft pastels and interesting artwork. This boutique hotel's interior gives a nod to the Art Deco era and although there is an unexpected use of patterns together, it results in an airy, light and harmonious space.
A whimsical bedroom suite with an unexpected mix of patterns and unique furniture, the Aitana Suite (above) is one of 32 beautifully designed guest rooms that are light filled, fresh and will stand the test of time and many, many guests.
Similar paint colours would be Farrow & Ball's Middleton Pink, No.245, Little Greene Paint & Paper's Confetti (274) and Pink Dynasty (1352) from Benjamin Moore.
For Moroccan tiles try Zellij Gallery in the US, British Ceramic Tile in the UK and Hadeda in South Africa.
Peony and Sage are the creators of vintage and French inspired upholstery as does F&P Interiors. Although not French, Les Indiennes' fabrics will be a great combination if you would like to recreate this look.
The unexpected patterned and hand-painted ceiling in the restaurant at Hotel Mamá adds to the fresh, richly textured and colourful interior.
This interior lingers in the memory and is a graceful beckoning to a renewed acquaintance.
